I am delighted to welcome your family to Forest Trail and our kindergarten program!  I know we will have a terrific year, working together to have a happy and successful year for your whole family.  I have a few suggestions that should help keep our first days in kindergarten comfortable and as stress free as possible.

• Make sure Mrs. Johnson has written notice of changes made for going home transportation.
• Bring a healthy snack daily, for afternoon snack time. The snack should be dry--no applesauce, yogurt, or fruit cups because of clean up issues.  Finger foods are highly recommended. Also, we only drink water in class, not juices.
• Your child is welcome to bring a waterbottle to school, although it is not necessary.  All waterbottles should be labeled and should be pop-top rather than a screw top, once again for clean up issues.
• Bring a large backpack to school daily.  The backpack should be labeled with the child's first and last name.
• Your child may need a sweater or sweatshirt daily, because our room can get very cool at times.
• Come to school on time with a full tummy, a smile, and hugs are ALWAYS welcome!
